Thanks to our great summer interns (whose blogs you should definitely read!), we caught an error that may have affected you! If you have reported banded birds since we debuted the new website (on July 13th), please check your reports for accuracy. Due to an oversight, we had arranged the band color boxes on the Report Forms to read: upper left (UL), upper right (UR), lower left (LL), lower right (LR). This is not the correct order for reporting bands and is a change from the old website - the appropriate arrangement is: upper left (UL), lower left (LL), upper right (UR), lower right (LR). In other words, read the bands on the bird's left leg first, top to bottom, then its right leg, top to bottom. We apologize if the error caused any of you to report your band combinations incorrectly! We have corrected both Report Forms, so if you have reported banded birds since July 13th you will want to check your reports to make sure your bands were reported in the correct order. Don't forget, you can edit your Sighting Reports now - no need to delete and reenter each sighting. If you have reported unbanded birds, your reports DO NOT need to be edited due to this error! Thanks for all your help and patience with our transition to the new website - I hope you are enjoying the new features! Leah

Sounds like the same little Bunting that came through Rocklage on July 27th....
We had an unusual guest the other evening,7/31/2010,here in Jupiter, Fl. A female or young male PB appeared for a few moments on one of our feeders. We usually don't see any birds till the first week of October. Needless to say we've been waiting anxiously for another sighting.
The first pair of painted buntings of fall 2010 have returned to my feeder, 8/1 & 8/2/10, coastal Ormond Beach, FL
